If I am teaching to someone, I will explain that food labels are informative labels found on packaged foods and beverages, providing details about the nutritional content, ingredients, and more. They include information like serving size, calories, and nutrient information, which indicates amounts of fat, sodium, fiber, vitamins, and other important nutrients. Understanding how to read food labels can help people make healthier food choices by comparing different products and selecting those that align better with their dietary needs. Educate them on reduce intake of fat and sugar, increase intake of vegetable and fibers balanced diet can help reduce the risk of heart disease, also can prevent high blood sugar by reducing intake of sugar and carbs.

I chose to reflect on food labels because knowing how to read them has a direct impact on making healthier dietary choices. This topic is significant to me as it empowers me to better control what I consume and manage specific health concerns such as sugar intake and dietary fiber. My interest deepened after realizing how food companies use labeling to attract consumers, sometimes in misleading ways. This awareness has sharpened my ability to shop smarter, choosing products that truly benefit my health rather than just appealing to cravings or convenience.

By understanding both DRIs and how to read food labels, I've enhanced my ability to maintain a nutritious diet that supports my overall health and fitness goals.
