you really need to improve your overall control.

It could be healthy.

It could be active medication is kind of like an action plan and with goal setting

something that you know

it’s something that we do every day if we’re gonna clean our house we usually plan on Saturday.

I’m gonna clean out the refrigerator of the pantry but with our own house sometimes haven’t been that specific about what we’re gonna improve our house so if you think in terms of more an action plan or a roadmap to help you get from .8 a point B or just to remind you of some things that you need to do on a daily basis that will really help you to really improve your diabetes management is always a difficult thing but if you just kind of stuff in terms of what you wanna accomplish what is your overall goal and many of my patients will say you know I really wanna be around to see my kids graduate high school or I wanna see my first grandchild so they already have an overarching goal that they really want accomplished and then with collaboration and discussion we talk about what is it gonna take to get there so it’s really up to you and your healthcare team truly, really kind of you know narrow the scope a little bit that you can kind of put your arms around it and really start to finding more specific goals that you can work on For specific goals to be specific stands for measurable so you wanna say at least two days a week I’m gonna try to walk 10 minutes a day the stands for achievable and it

Looking at yourself and say yes, I’m able to achieve that the skull that this would really work with me so you’ve already defined what you know that you’re gonna be able to

Our stands for a realistic being realistic if you know that you know you work 1214 hours a day it might not be realistic to say that you’re gonna go straight after work to health club. It might be something that you’ll do in the morning or on your lunch and then the tea stands for timely timeframe so you’re gonna say to yourself you know I’m gonna maybe not drink soda before I go to bed at least three nights a week so I think using the smart approach is really a good way because it really helps you find those goals and make those goals work for

There’s no such thing as a failure reevaluate your goal and I think we do in life all the time but sometimes it doesn’t work and we need to change and do things a little different or better and that’s OK. Change happens overtime and it’s a process and we have to learn how to sometimes change our behaviors and it’s difficult but you can do it and you just have to just keep going forward every step lead you to somewhere better and greater so it’s small stops and big
